tulips and cents found at Pike's yesterday

My last purchase at Elliott Bay Books in Pioneer Square was poetry by Beverly Rollwagen.  Her volume is She Just Wants and every poem is a response to Freud's question of what women want.  They range from whimsical to mean to reflective.    I choose time because it fits with my current weighing of what to do next in life.

She just wants to locate herself in
time and space.  Everything rushes
past:  childhood, beauty, even pain.  There
must be a place to rest, to take a deep
breath and absorb what's gone before.
She watched the face of the clock for a
clue; she studies the map of her life.  She
notices how she's been all over, and never
too long in one place.  She can't decide
if this is a problem or a gift.  She points
to a dot on the map and decides to settle
there.  She wants to believe that there is
still time for a mailbox with her name
and address in block letters.  Still time to
go home.

  1. Speaking of Pike Market, whatever came of your visit to the produce stall? Or is that a topic for Monday morning when you shed church jobs for awhile?

  2. They already filled the position. Yes, Monday's task is to find out what I need to do to get my food handler's license.
