In Time of Silver Rain
Langston Hughes
In time of silver rain
The earth
Puts forth new life again.
Green grasses grow
And flowers lift their heads,
And over all the plain
The wonder spread
Of life,
Of life,
Of life!
In time of silver rain
The butterflies
Lift silken wings
To catch a rainbow cry,
And trees put forth
New leaves to sing
In joy beneath the sky
As down the roadway
Passing boys and girls
Go singing, too,
In time of silver rain
When spring
And life
Are new.
The title of this posting refers to the number of days until I expect to harvest tomatoes from my very own garden. This is exciting because this has not occurred for seven years. You can see that the lettuce and spinach are doing quite nicely despite being pummeled by wind storms this past weekend.
I hope that you actually GET tomatoes in that amount of time! I'm flat broke at the moment - in both countries - or I would be buying up my own little potting things for an indoor garden. I mean, heck - I grow mushrooms already...
