  1. At first seems like an oxymoron - but it does take will and perseverance to acknowledge the "glad" when we're buffeted.

  2. Hm. How rarely do we stubbornly accept gladness. More likely we stubbornly reject that there's anything to be happy about, and we whine, whine, whine.

    The ceiling in the kitchen is leaking.
    I will stubbornly be glad that I am moving, and simply move my boxes aside...

  3. Yes, it's a variation on the 'count your blessings' axiom; something I am fiercely focused upon as I enter month 18 of the job hunt.
