here comes the sun

and with it, some broiling temperatures. So. Seemed a perfect scheme to escape into foggy SF for the day.

a new dish at our customary Chinatown hangout

It was delightful and a little startling that the entire wait staff recognized us and raced to give a table with hugs and flourishes.  While we have eaten there quite a bit over 20 years, none of us had been there for over 3 years.

happy lanterns with the sound of monks chanting floating along with them

palms viewed through my limo roof....

pretend it's an action shot

no matter where I wander, San Fransisco will always be my favorite US city

kaleidoscopic entrance to a shop

clever ad with real t-shirts filling up the side of the building

picturesque street cars along the Embarcadaro

refurbished Ferry Building; fabulous place for nibbles and nosh

tried to get a shot of this arrow beside the bridge, but kept getting other cars

I think it's the Brooklyn Bridge

a bag of lychee for snackage on the drive home

a dime from the curb

(forgot to add a swoop through my former 'hood--Tucker's in Alameda!)

and finally, buttermilk-battered onion rings to eat while movie watching.  A great Father's day--at least from my end.

  2. Well, it's an Apple thing, I suppose. Perhaps Apple thinks they look better in this order? ;)

    Love the pics, though. :)

  3. I've never been to that Chinese restaurant - how lovely that they remember you! And SF looked terribly elegant and gorgeous from your pics - a nice place to escape the heat.
